Meet the Team!

  • Dulcey is a professional dog trainer with over 12 years of experience in dog training and animal care, including almost a decade of experience teaching group and private classes in the Triad. Dulcey also worked in a shelter environment as the Behavior Intern for the Kentucky Humane Society for two years.

    Training isn’t just a career for Dulcey, it is her passion. She grew up in rural, Kentucky and adopted Senna, a leash reactive Aussie mix that ignited her love for dog training and behavior modification. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science with a Minor in Psychology in 2011.

    Dulcey has earned several certifications so that she can stay up to date on scientifically proven, humane, and effective methods to help you improve your relationship with your dog.

    To date, Dulcey is only 1 of 2 dog trainers in the state of NC who has qualified for and passed the CPDT-KSA examination.

    Dulcey has also completed and passed assessment for the Cat and Dog First Aid course through the American Red Cross.

    When Dulcey isn’t helping other people with their pets she enjoys spending time with her husband, John Evans, and their pets. They currently have 2 rescue dogs (Beagle Juice and Tule).

    Dulcey also enjoys experimenting with her hair color and watching UK basketball in her spare time. Go Cats!

  • Rachel is a pet stylist specializing in Bichon Frises and several handstripped dog breeds. She has been in the animal industry since she began working at a vet clinic at the age of 16.

    Rachel graduated from Nanhall Professional School of Dog Grooming in 2017, and has passed her Pet CPR and first aid certification. Rachel enjoys using her artistic ability to help pups look and feel their best, and believes that all dogs benefit greatly from being groomed regularly.

    Rachel is currently working towards her National Certified Master Groomer (NCMG) certification and her Fear Free Grooming certification. She enjoys competing and has placed in several grooming competitions.

    She has a special interest in dog training. Rachel has trained her own dogs to the point of earning their Canine Good Citizen awards and Trick Dog Titles. She has been apprenticing with Dulcey for one year, assisting with and teaching group and private lessons. Rachel is working towards earning her CPDT-KA certification.

    When she isn’t working with other people’s dogs, Rachel enjoys spending time with her 3 Boston Terriers: Ziggy, Joker, and Ivey - they are her entire world! She enjoys traveling/road tripping with them and they have visited over 20 national parks together all over the country. Rachel is also a Major League Baseball addict and enjoys watching any game, but is a die hard Dodger fan!
